Nintendo is making moves to target fans of the NFC figurines! Judging by the success of Disney Infinity and even bigger success coming from Skylanders, this is a huge step for them! Pictured above is Reggie Fils-Aime; President of Nintendo of America in the Digital Event for E3 showing off the Mario figurine. They will be called Amiibo!

It will be compatible with both of the games mentioned; Skylanders and Disney Infinity 2, but they announced that Super Smash Bros will be the first game to support Amiibo, with support arriving for Mario Kart 8 in the future.

Amiibo will have the ability to transfer data, and also hold data between the Wii tablet, and your figurine. Making it possible to have a unique character with its own stats. Making it possible to bring to a friends house, and carry your stats over. The first series of figures are set to release during this coming holiday season, but will also be released throughout 2015 as support rises.

Using these Amiibo’s are really easy as each Wii U Tablet comes equipped with a NFC chip where you place your figurine and wait for it to carry over to your TV, its that simple!

Oz plays Rocket League and is very bad at it, but at least he tries. As long as there are games to talk about, he's in his happy place.
