Pizza Bandit | PAX East 2024

My first thought was a cute and fuzzy feeling game. Like a raccoon going around stealing pizzas from shops to feed the other woodland creatures, right? No. This ain’t No Slice Scooper and I’m glad I’m wrong.

Bless the brain power and creativity of humanity for video games but my lord Jofsoft has done something to blow minds still in 2024 and beyond. They have taken the challenge of putting together a beautiful game with mercenaries, time manipulation, and pizzas. A combination so crazy it works.

At first glance I didn’t understand how everything can ever come together. After playing Pizza Bandit I just can’t believe how well it does come together. It taught me to not really focus on how the proverbial pizza is made but on how it tastes.

For a game deep in the developing stages, I was impressed with the visuals. I saw some elements from favorites like Gears of War and Left 4 Dead. I particularly enjoyed the fluidity in movement and really taken in by the thrill-inspiring shading. It really gets you to forget the bizarreness of the plot and just enjoy the action-packed life of pizza place.

I look forward to seeing more of the story. It’s tough being a pizza shop owner nowadays but I can only imagine being one in the future where you control the “special delivery” to mercenaries throughout time. Pizza deliveries save lives in Pizza Bandit and they looking for us to be able to join the fun Q1 2025.

Juan was raised in a place where dysfunctional urban youth tainted the lives of those who were exposed to the drugs and the gunfire that lit the streets. In order to survive, he kept himself barricaded in his room, in the trenches of Nintendo and Sega. It’s how his passion developed for gaming and how the creative imagination took the driver’s seat. Gaming is an escape from the struggles of life and to express frustration. Just because you gain responsibilities as time progresses doesn’t mean you have to let go of gaming. Just adapt and evolve it to best suit your lifestyle and embrace the adventures that being a gamer brings. Stay posted and see what the product of the GAMING EVOLUTION can do.
