The merchandise for PAX East 2022 featured a space-themed logo similar to NASA’s “The Worm” logo, and we here at DRULcast absolutely loved it!
In 2019 we were presented with the “cheesy/gooey” theme, which was great but didn’t get us to get anything. In 2020 we got the “Varsity” themed good which also didn’t disappoint, but it was not enough to get us to make a purchase. I don’t recall any one of us actively looking for specific items to buy from the official PAX Merch booth like we did this year. The 2019 pizza variant from PAX South had so much potential but was disappointed when we didn’t get a variant at PAX East that year.
Oz for example was on the hunt for specific pins, more of this to follow in a separate post! Both Juan and GP ended up getting a Bomber Jacket.
Juan on the Bomber Jacket:
I have never purchased PAX branded swag until this year. If you didn’t get the Pax 2022 Bomber Jacket, you darn goofed. It’s the best-looking piece in PAX history. This nylon black bomber jacket has a smooth texture and is stylish. The PAX graphic is across the back, black on black, giving it a stealthy sleek look. It is decorated with brilliant patches across the upper body and sleeve. Then a vibrant red interior provides contrast and completes the fashionable design.
I do have minor complaints but not enough to have buyer’s remorse. I would have preferred if the zipper was black. I think it would have flowed even better with the design. The zipper also worries me that it is going to break after a few uses. Feels like it’s not going to do well through the test of time. Lastly, the jacket is a bit snug in the elbow region and leaves some desire for more depth in the pockets, it doesn’t even fit my Samsung Galaxy Ultra 22.
Overall, I would say it’s a good purchase for a spring jacket. I can see myself rocking it on the regular. The damage was $85 but well worth it when you consider the patches themselves go for about $30 and it’s an exclusive. Look good, game good.
