A complete surprise from Nintendo! Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker! Yes! Toad is getting his own game!
Toad has always been that support character in which you can’t help but love, and it quite possibly has to be due to its voice. For me at least, that’s what does it. Coming Holiday of 2014, we get an entire game with Toad as the star.
The game plays a lot like FEZ, its a collection of puzzles where depending on how you shift the camera, you’ll gain access to hidden entry ways. Speaking of hidden, the use of the Wii U Tablet, you’ll have the ability to touch the screen and uncover hidden coins within the level. Not only that but you’ll have special abilities as well, one example of this was a sliding Thwomp (pictured below) where if you tapped and held it on the touchscreen, you’ll be given access to the entry way it was protecting.
The objective is simple between each puzzle, just get to and collect the star. The challenge comes in via multiple environmental changes, like a collapsing bridge and hidden objects through out the levels.
