Its that time of the week! Where I sit back and relax, maybe play some games during the day, but at night? Well now… that involves a lot of passionate… Wait, wrong blog! Sorry! It involves watching The Walking Dead! which I guess has some passionate moments, haha.
Let’s get to the point of issue 4, too many games! There are simply just too many games coming out, some of which I won’t getting. Remember, the idea behind DownRightUpLeft is to save money! Instead of buying that Madden every year, just skip a year, nothing has changed, lets be honest! We live in the world of new, mine, get!
I’ll admit it, that was me. Every new Call of Duty, I was in the front lines to get, well, I’ve got news for you all, not this time! Unless it is gifted to me, I am not spending money on rehashed games with a pretty skin. Granted that’s all that we’re getting, Assassins Creed 3, Halo 4 to name a few. Sure I bought Borderlands 2, which we can put up an argument that it is the same as the first. Honestly, isn’t that the point? Why change the formula if it works?
It just gets old, I’m sick of First Person Shooters, I don’t want to play a game strictly for its online features. Also, Co-op is in a category of its own, Borderlands 2 is great, I’m applying the statement to the likes of Medal of Honor, Halo, and the Call of Duty series. Nothing has changed! The story will be an hour long, and the rest of the time your playing online, competing. Sure its fun, but for me? I just need a break from the routine!
[divider]That being said, we here at the DRUL HQ would like to give you guys reviews for those games. But that would mean buying a game I rather not put anything on. We’re not like those big guys who get the freebies, and have reviews ready for you day of launch. At least not yet we aren’t! That doesn’t mean that we can’t try!
This week I was presented with some awesome news, and then it got better. I got in contact with a friend of mine from school, and also a former writer on a previous project we ran together for a while. Upon reminiscing the “good days” we came to an agreement that he would write again! Alan Wong has proven himself from previous work which I sadly have no access to any more, but I can’t wait to see what he can bring for you guys!
Additionally, I have the privileged to re-introduce an old friend from when the site was pretty much started! The famous Jose Diaz will be providing us with content as well as a Guest Reviewer! Jose has appeared on a couple of early DRULcast’s when the site launched, and we are happy to have him back writing for us. I know Jose as a Halo fan boy, so he’ll be there to provide the review for Halo 4 when ready! Luckily I trust his judgement and can’t wait to see what he has to say about the game. He will be providing us with random reviews and posts from time to time, as an honorary member of the DRUL Crew.
I want to thank these guys for pulling through, and I can’t wait to see what they have to say in this crazy world of gaming.
Like always folks, Play til’ you DRUL!
