Third Parties

ADVERTISING:
We have advertisements on our site and they are our main source of revenue. We do not accept money or other consideration from companies as a condition or incentive to write a review or story. All reviews and other editorial material are based on our editorial discretion and not based on the desire of any company, advertiser or PR firm. Our website also contains affiliate marketing links, which means we may be paid commission on sales of those products or services we write about. None of our content is influenced by advertisers or affiliate partnerships.

CONDUCT:
All travel or accommodation costs provided from companies will be disclosed within the post or review based on the event.
Staff are permitted to back video game crowdsourced projects on their own. No disclosure is required.

REVIEW SCORES:
Reviews are now known as Judgement, where we analyze the game and give our opinion on it.
We’ve simplified the review process by removing the need for scores. Instead, the article should state whether or not the author enjoyed it. The article should also state what type of person the game was trying to market.

Any review before 2017 met the following criteria:
Reviews are based on a 1-5 solid rating avoiding decimals. They range from Avoid (1/2) to Buy(4/5) with a 3 being a midpoint or uncertainty.
Reviews are all based on the author of the post and do not represent the collective opinion of our staff.
Scores are not discussed with publishers or developers before publishing the review.

CONFLICT:
Writers aren’t allowed to cover any content from companies they have worked with in the past. To avoid conflict this also carries over to the writers spouse, partner or close friend. Any potential conflict found after the fact of content being published will be disclosed on the footnotes of that article.

CORRECTIONS:
We strive for perfection, however, we all make mistakes. In the event an error is found, the article will be corrected and the fix will be disclosed on the footnotes of that article.

GIVEAWAYS:
On occasion, DRULcast will conduct contests and giveaways for readers on the site. We will post rules for each contest, which will be binding on contestants who decide to participate. Giveaways of products are not, and should never be considered, endorsements of the companies involved or their products.

PRODUCT SAMPLES FOR REVIEWS:
Companies may send games or other products or samples to our editors in order for our staff to review. In the end, we determine what content gets coverage determined on availability. Please note that companies may provide these samples before the product is commercially available, in which case, we may agree to an embargo with the company or its PR firm. This means we agree not to publish the review or associated news until a given time.
If a company provides us with a game, or product with the intention of a review, it will be disclosed on the footnotes of that article.
For the most part, we purchase our own games or products and decide on coverage.
