Day Off Issue 2

As mentioned in last weeks issue, there are a few changes being made! So lets take this Day Off and go over one of these changes, which is actually more of an addition than anything else…

Over the past couple of years I’ve been trying to come up with ways to make DRUL more exciting. There came a point where I had no idea what to do anymore and went around asking for suggestions or ideas on what they would like to see on the site. I got many great ideas, but as mentioned in the previous issue, it is difficult to compete with the bigger names out there. One response I got was made it extremely hard for me to focus on the site any more to the point of wanting to quit. The exact text, I don’t recall, but it went along the lines of “I need to know of something exactly at the time it happens.” In other words, I had to deliver breaking news for this person to visit my site. There was absolutely no way I could achieve this, and it got me thinking as to how many other people thought this way.

Obviously something else clicked if I’m still here writing, and that was to take this in another direction, simply put, I had to figure out what I could do to get people to visit. I’ve always been “the gamer”, as my younger cousin puts it, “he’s the IGN of the family”. Suddenly, I thought to myself, if people come to me for advise or question what I think about certain games, my opinion must mean something to many. That being said, we go back to the person who sent me that text, someone who I could always rely on giving me advice for the site. Even if its not advice, its that extra kick I need to continue working on something I enjoy. I value all of his ideas and judgement when it comes to the site.

He’s no stranger when it comes to DRUL as he was featured in a couple of DRULcasts back in the day with a book he was working on. It is an honor to have Mark Bruno as Senior Editor for our site. He has many talents and we can’t wait to see what he can provide.

Oscar Ventura

Oz plays Rocket League and is very bad at it, but at least he tries. As long as there are games to talk about, he's in his happy place.
